Vanderburgh and Warrick Co. (WFIE) -
Vanderburgh and Warrick County Sheriff Offices are cracking down on meth users and child neglect.
They're teaming up with the Indiana Department of Child Services asking the community to tell them about any suspected cases.
On Monday, 14 News spoke with down with Virginia Combs, the regional manager of the Department of Child Services.
She's seen first hand the affects living in a meth home has on children.
She says about 85-95% of the case lads DCS sees are related to people with some sort of substance abuse such as meth.
Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties in particular see a lot of meth-related activity.
Just last year 114 meth labs were seized in Vanderburgh County alone.
37 children were present.
The two sheriff's departments say tips from family and neighbors are crucial in tracking down meth activity.
They want you to pay attention to signs like kids missing a lot of school, poor hygiene, lack of supervision.
All those things can be signs of meth related drug use and Combs says it happens too frequently.
"Two weeks ago, here in Warrick County we had three sets of children were removed because the parents were either using meth, or had a meth lab. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday," said Combs.
