The Henderson County Sheriff's Office says a man was arrested late Sunday night after leading deputies on a wild chase.

It happened Sunday night around 11:30 p.m.

Deputies say they attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle being driven by 40-year-old Timothy Oliver, of Philpot, KY.

Authorities say Oliver fled from the scene and was able to evade the deputy that tried to stop him.

Officials say Oliver was spotted a short time later traveling at high speed and with a headlight out in the 8000 block of US 60 East.

Deputies say they again tried to stop Oliver, but they say he refused to pull over.

Oliver continued down US 60 East with deputies in pursuit.  Officials say he turned on KY 1078 and then on to Mound Ridge road where they say he lost control of his vehicle and fled on foot towards a wooded area.

Deputies say they were able to apprehend Oliver after a short foot chase near the wood line.

Authorities say Oliver was arrested and is facing multiple charges including Fleeing or Evading Police, DUI charges and driving without insurance.  Officials say he was also wanted on a warrant from the Henderson Police Department.

He was taken to the Henderson County Detention Center.
