Major winter storm developing to our west

Another major winter storms is ramping up over the plains, with winter storm watches, warnings and winter weather advisories already in effect:

Minneapolis is expecting 6-12 inches of snow, Chicago 6-9 inches and even areas like Fort Wayne & Kokomo, Indiana could see 3-6 inches.

The tri-state will be in the warm sector of this complex system... for the most part.  Overnight, a low to our southwest will move into the tri-state producing widespread rain.  Rain early on Tuesday will change over to some snow by the evening and overnight into early Wednesday.

If you don't like snow, the good news is most of the moisture will have moved east by the time the cold air arrives.  Even so, minor accumulations of an inch or so are possible, generally along and north of interstate 64.
