Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a Hopkins County inmate.

The Hopkins County Jail says 63-year-old Charles Young was found unresponsive in his jail cell around 5:30 Sunday morning.

Medical personnel tried to revive Young until paramedics from the Regional Medical Center arrived. Young was pronounced dead by the Hopkins County Coroner Dennis Mayfield.
