Boil advisory lifted for German Township Water customers

Posted: Updated:
VANDERBURGH/POSEY COUNTY, IN (WFIE) -

Officials with German Township Water District say the boil advisory issued on Saturday for customers in Vanderburgh County and north of Copperline Rd. in Posey County has now been lifted.

On Saturday, in consultation with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, it was determined that the water customers in those areas should begin boiling their drinking water.

The temporary precautionary measure was recommended within the above service area due to a temporary water main break. Officials say the water main was repaired; however, water pressure did fall below the required 20 psi for approximately six hours during the repair work, causing the boil advisory.
