Troopers say an early morning traffic stop led to the arrest of an Evansville man on DUI and marijuana charges.
Indiana State Police say on Saturday morning around 1:16 a.m., a trooper stopped 41-year-old Timothy Hartig at the intersection of First Avenue and Diamond Avenue for making an unsafe lane change on First Avenue near Uhlhorn.
While talking to Hartig, the trooper found a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, and also observed a plastic bag containing marijuana on the front console.
Further investigation revealed Hartig had a BAC of .10%.
He was arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where he is currently being held without bond.
Hartig is facing charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.
