On the day sequester cuts are set to take effect, Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell calls those cuts 'modest'.
Back home in Kentucky, Senator McConnell told reporters this afternoon the $85-billion in federal spending cuts will not damage the nation's economy like the President has warned.
McConnell says the President's push for a higher tax rate for top income earners is more likely to hurt the economy than the spending cuts.
President Obama called the sequester cuts dumb, inexcusable, and not his fault.
