EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Today, the first of March, law requires that if you receive a social security paper check, you must make the switch to an electronic payment method.

Starting today, you have to receive your benefits through direct deposit or loaded onto a direct express debit card.

If you haven't made the switch yet...click here for a link.

You can also go to your bank or credit union and sign up for direct deposit.

However, if you were born on or before May 1, 1921, you may still receive a paper check.
