Good-Bye Em

Emily Swan Song

A bittersweet morning on Sunrise as we say good-bye to our live reporter Emily Mieure.  Despite rain, snow, sleet, cold, heat and dark of night, she told the story like a pro everyday. She's taking her skills to Louisville TV, and we'll miss her dearly. But we wish her the best, and we'll send her off in style (as she reports on the cold and snow, of course) this morning on Sunrise.

Sequester Deadline

The White House says President Obama is still hopeful that something can be worked out with Congress to avert the $85 billion in military and domestic spending cuts set to take effect today. The White House says that's why Obama is waiting until the last moment possible to put the cuts into effect.

Harrisburg Remembers

Today marks one year since an E-F4 tornado swept though Harrisburg, Illinois claiming eight lives and doing millions in damage.  Flags will be flown at half-staff and there will be a moment of silence this morning. There will also be a monument unveiled this afternoon.

Moving Day

It's a big day for Owensboro Health as it starts the transition phase into its new facility just off of Pleasant Valley Road. Officials say the Education Department will be the first to move in today.

VHS Pet of the Week

We'll meet this week's featured pet from the Vanderburgh Humane Society.

So welcome to March, stay warm and we'll see you on Sunrise.
