Starting around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, AT&T Customers around Evansville started seeing "LTE" on their screens where "4G" used to be.
LTE stands for Long Term Evolution.
It's an upgrade that makes web searching faster.
It is only available on LTE-compatible phones.
Verizon has it's "own version" of an LTE network available in Evansville since Fall 2011.
Sprint customers do not have LTE service here yet.
