Henderson County Schools are looking for your help mentoring 8th and 10th graders during the month of March.
HCS Director of assessment Jinger Carter says this is the districts second year participating in "Operation Preparation."
That's a program where students meet with volunteer community advisors one-on-one to learn about a field of study they're most interested in.
Carter tells 14News those meetings help students learn what it's like to prepare for college and careers from those who have experienced the 'real world' themselves.
"How they got their first job," says Carter. "How, what their high school years looked like, what their years right after high school looked like. Basically, we want our students to be able to connect with a person that has that opportunity to speak with them and learn more about the career."
