Goodbye, Schmitt Photo

Seeing any business close is a bit of a bummer, but when it's been around for 97 years, that's really pretty sad.  :(  This evening Schmitt photo (just off Green River Rd.) closed its doors one last time.  The co-owner, Steve, told me five generations of the Schmitt family have worked there in those nine-plus decades.  That is awesome!

Steve made it through the interview, but just barely.  He really started to choke up while talking about the store's wonderful customers.  He's right, people were entrusting him and his staff with their most precious memories—developing photos from births, deaths and everything in between.

Honestly, it took a while for me to even be able to talk to Steve because they had quite a few people coming in one last time.  That goes to show the great loyalty there. J  Best of luck to the Schmitt's and all the employees there as they start a new chapter.  Thank you for close to 100 years in the Tri-State!

Time for me to get going… just one more thing to add.  I'd like to wish a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wonderful grandpa who turns 83 today!  Love you lots!! :)

Until next time,

Erin
