Cool, Breezy Thursday:  Even with a mix of sunshine and clouds, today will be cool from start to finish.  After a slow warm up this morning, afternoon temperatures will range from upper 40s to low 50s across Upstate towns with 30s and 40s in Western NC.

Occasional snow showers will come down along the ridge-tops in the high elevations with 2-4" type accumulations.

Chilly Friday:  Expect a colder day Friday as more Canadian air settles into our region.  In the Upstate, we'll notice a mix of clouds and sun with a mostly cloudy sky across Western NC.  More snow showers will come down along the ridge-tops in the high elevations.

Flurries Possible Saturday:  If there were an actual system developing on Friday night or Saturday, we would make more of the situation for Upstate and NE Georgia towns.

The fact is, there isn't a system (until it develops too far east of us on Sunday) and this scenario is lacking a properly aligned upper-level wind pattern for any significant low pressure center to develop near the surface.  Basically, this will be a cold & dry air dominant setup which puts some real limitations on how much snow can come down in Upstate towns & NE Georgia towns.  There may be a few flurries or snow showers and some light rain also possible, but I'm not expecting accumulations in SC or GA.

However, more high mountain accumulations will happen as upslope snow continues on Saturday and again on Sunday.  Snow showers will come down along the ridge-tops in the high elevations.

Expect cold temperatures area-wide this weekend.

Clemson vs. South Carolina @ Fluor Field on Saturday:  Baseball will be the big deal on Saturday on the West End.  If you are headed downtown to tailgate either during the morning before the game or afternoon post-game, you'll need your jacket as temperatures will be in the 30s and 40s and won't warm up much under a mostly cloudy sky.

First pitch is at 2:00ET and windy, cold conditions will be a factor.  Temperatures will range from upper 30s into 40s on Saturday afternoon.
