At the monthly meeting of the Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau(ECVB) today, a total of $58,800 was awarded to the following list of grant applicants for 2013.
In order to be considered for funding through the ECVB, applicants must submit an application located on the VisitEvansville.com website by the January 31st deadline. These applications are considered by the ECVB Grants Committee which consists of three ECVB Commissioners. These Commissioners evaluate the requests made based on the guidelines of the Grants program.
The ECVB Grants program provides marketing funds to event organizers to advertise their event within a 75 to 150 mile radius of Evansville in order to attract overnight visitors who will stay in Evansville hotels.
This year's approved applicants will use appropriate radio, billboard, newspaper or other advertising opportunities to promote their event within this targeted region. The organizers of the event may do the placement or are welcome to use the expertise of the Evansville CVB marketing staff.
As the tourism management organization for Vanderburgh County, the mission of the Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau is to be the city's primary advocate of convention business and sustainable leisure travel opportunities that will bring visitors to the community for overnight stays.
The Evansville CVB says the grants program rewards those organizations in the community that assist in making its mission possible.
