There's a special class tonight in Daviess County for anyone who wants to learn more about keeping their family safe during severe weather.
The training will take place in the basement of the Daviess County Courthouse in the Emergency Operations Center.
It's open to anyone who's concerned about their family's safety during severe weather and wants to learn more.
The training runs from 6:30-8 p.m.
Unlike the Weather Spotter classes that have taken place recently, tonight's program isn't for someone who's interested in becoming a Storm Chaser.
The agenda for the training is jam-packed.
You'll learn about things like different types of severe weather and when to seek shelter.
Emergency officials will also cover how to monitor potentially dangerous weather a few days in advance, as well as the safest places to go if a tornado is in the area.
Some basic warning terms and how to report damage in your neighborhood will also be discussed.
Officials say the main goals of this class are to learn what you can and should do when there's severe weather so that you can keep your family safe.
