University of Southern Indiana senior outfielder/designated hitter B.J. Willis (Cincinnati, Ohio) and junior right-handed pitcher David Toth (Danville, Illinois) were named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week for their efforts in the Screaming Eagles' three-game sweep of Lake Erie College.

Willis led a USI offensive attack that produced 47 runs and 48 hits in three games against Lake Erie. He batted a blistering .875 (7-8) with three runs scored, seven RBI, and three doubles. The senior's week was highlighted by a three-for-three, five RBI performance Sunday in the Eagles' 16-4 victory.

Toth recorded a win in his first start as an Eagle, throwing six scoreless innings and setting down 14 of the first 15 batters faced in Saturday's 14-2 victory. He allowed one fifth inning hit and struck out seven before turning the game over to the bullpen.

The Eagles continue the season-opening 10-game homestand with the start of the Dunn Hospitality Classic March 1. The 2013 Dunn Hospitality Classic features USI, the University of Missouri-St. Louis, Ashland University, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Drury University, and Augustana University.  A total of 14 games are scheduled between March 1 and March 12.
