Police have allowed Evansville Day School students to leave with their parents, and the investigation into an apparently false alarm at the school continues.
Officials say someone called the school and reported a person with a gun. The receptionist called 911, and the lockdown was issued.
Police have searched the area and are still searching inside the school, but have found no evidence of a threat so far.
We're told the school didn't immediately notify parents and the robo-call system was not activated.
However, many parents heard about the situation from local media, and showed up at the school to check on their children.
Evansville Police are also investigating a bank robbery at the Fifth Third branch located on North Weinbach Avenue that happened at about the same time as the 911 threat report.
EPD says at this time, the events at Evansville Day School and 5/3rd Bank are being investigated separately.
