Wal-Mart Super Center Plans Move Forward

Construction crews will be rolling into Henderson soon to built a new Wal-Mart Super Center.

Site plans for the Super Center and a Lowe's home improvement store were given preliminary approval by the Henderson city-county planning commission on Tuesday. The proposed center off of U.S. 60 and Barrett Boulevard has been under fire from neighbors and and appeal of a rezoning ruling is pending.

Developers say they are still going ahead with plans to break ground in September, with the store's opening about a year from now.
