GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE) -
Former high-ranking Marine, Oliver North made a stop in the Tri-State on Saturday night.
The Marine Lieutenant Colonel spoke to a group at Princeton Community High School Saturday afternoon.
He talked about his service to his country and what it takes to be a leader.
"The definition of a hero, the classic definition of a hero, is a person who puts themselves at risk for the benefit of another. That certainly defines those that I cover out there," North said.
"He's a big supporter of the ESGR, the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, and I'm a member of that as well. All of the money that we raise today on ticket sales will go to scholarships for people that are deployed in the guard and reserve in the state of Indiana," event attendee, C.T. Montgomery said.
After speaking in Princeton, North then spoke at Gibson County's annual Lincoln Day Dinner.
