The original call came into 911 after two people in a nearby residence spotted what looked like a man wearing a Carhartt jacket out on the ice who, after some time passed, could not be located again.

Carroll Township crews were assisted by a helicopter from the Coast Guard as well as Ottawa County water rescue and dive teams.

The search and rescue effort lasted a total of about 4 hours.

Anyone with more information about this incident is asked to call the Carroll Township police department at 419 898-4906.
