A hearing to determine if former police officer Drew Peterson should get a retrial is winding down.
The defense called their last witness Wednesday as they sought to convince a judge Peterson deserved a retrial because his former lead attorney bungled the first trial.
Jurors convicted Peterson last year of murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio. He's a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.
The judge refused Wednesday to let the defense call lead prosecutor James Glasgow.
They wanted to ask him about a comment he made to reporters during the trial after a defense witness backfired on Peterson's lawyers. Glasgow said the witness was "a gift from God" to prosecutors.
