Owensboro group undergoes a facelift, plans to celebrate

A special event will be held in Owensboro on Thursday to celebrate a group's recent facelift and some other changes.

You might have heard of the Chamber Young Professionals before in Owensboro, but now, they have a new name and a new logo.

Now known as Connecting Young Leaders of Owensboro, the group's mission is to develop members by encouraging them to grow in the community.

That's done through lots of different networking, community involvement, and leadership development opportunities.

To celebrate these changes and what's to come, a ribbon cutting and membership kickoff social will be held Thursday night at 5 p.m.

If you'd like to learn more about CYLO or even join the organization, you're invited to come down to the Chamber of Commerce on East Third Street for the event.

The group's already getting involved in the community by hosting the Color Blast 5K after party next month, as well as sponsoring free WIFI in Smothers Park downtown.

Anyone who's between 21 and 40 years old is eligible to join CYLO.
