OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - Today was the first day of high school softball practice and tryouts across Kentucky. The Lady Aces at Owensboro Catholic High School hosted their tryouts behind the school this afternoon. Thirty two girls are trying out for this years varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen softball team. Twenty two of the girls trying out will make the varsity team. The Aces' softball team is ranked first in the state this year. The team has won five titles and were runner up in the state three times since George Randolph started coaching softball at Owensboro Catholic High School. The Lady Aces' play their first game on March 20th against Bowling Green High School.
