Union members hire non union members to protest the hiring of non union members.
The owner of Fantastic Sams Hair Salon says she just moved her business down the street and for the past couple months, protestors have been outside the shop.
Protestors have been standing on Pearl Drive outside her old and new locations since December, but she tells 14News the most concerning part is that Fantastic Sams had nothing to do with hiring those construction workers.
Friday afternoon, those protestors we're told are non-union workers hired by the construction union to protest for fair working conditions were out on Pearl Drive.
Fantastic Sams owner Wendy Tumel tells us she rents the Fantastic Sams place and her landlord hired non-union workers to remodel the new store.
Tumey also tells us the protesting hasn't hurt business, but she doesn't understand why protestors would target a specific business who isn't in charge of staffing construction work.
"I think that you can't dictate, you know, what the market is going to pay for and, and then when you don't get your way, protest it when it wasn't even our issue," says Tumey.
