The Indiana Court of Appeals upheld a smoking ban Friday.
Last spring, two groups filed legal action against the city, trying to stop the ban of smoking in local bars.
Many businesses like Show-Me's now how have an outdoor patio area for smoking.
But several bar patrons and employees say the ban leaves them frustrated.
A Vanderburgh County Judge denied a temporary injunction last March with the smoking ban going into effect April 1, 2012.
Friday, the Indiana Court of Appeals upheld the decision to keep that ban fully in effect.
Smoking is not allowed inside bars, taverns and private clubs in Evansville with the exception of Casino Aztar.
"It doesn't bother me, really," says Benny Johnson, an Evansville resident.
Brian Sales, also an Evansville resident, says, "it's going to hurt business and business brings this community together."
A local bar owner tells 14News that roughly 13 bars have closed in Evansville in the past 10 months.
