O'boro Rotary Club preps for annual Bourbon Ball

Posted: Updated:

If you like barbecue and bourbon, there's an event in Owensboro that might be right up your alley.

Tomorrow night, the Owensboro Rotary Club's fifth annual Bourbon Ball fundraiser will take place.

It's jam-packed with lots of things to enjoy, and organizers say it's the only event of its kind in Kentucky.

The evening kicks off with a silent auction, bourbon tasting, and appetizers at 6 p.m.

Six to 10 distillers will be there for you to sample what could probably be called Kentucky's most famous drink of choice.

Moonlite Bar-B-Q will provide a bourbon-themed dinner.

The evening wraps up with dancing and music by the Jimmy Church Band, and in the spirit of the night, they'll be playing bourbon-themed music.

One of the highlights this year is part of what's up for grabs in the silent auction.

You can place your bids on a signed piece of the floor from the University of Kentucky's NCAA winning championship game.

Lots of other items will be available, too.

All of the proceeds from this event stay local.

The money supports the Bluegrass Chapter of the Honor Flight Program for veterans.

It also goes to other various local projects.

Tickets are $100, and they're going fast.

To get yours, call 270-926-5932.
