Indiana House Republicans are adding $1-billion in more spending for roads, schools and other priorities to a relatively Spartan budget delivered by Gov. Mike Pence in January.
Republican house speaker Brian Bosma says the plan restores large cuts made to education during the recession and pays more for road construction and repairs.
The house plan would also speed up the phase-out of the state inheritance tax.
