CENTER TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Interstate 75 was shut down near Bowling Green Thursday morning after a single-vehicle crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash that occurred shortly after 7 a.m.

David Barnd Jr., 47, of Findlay, was driving a GMC Yukon northbound on I-75 when he went off the left side of the roadway and into the median, overturning several times. His SUV came to rest in the southbound lanes.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Troopers say Barnd was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital by Life Flight. He is listed in critical condition.

According to troopers, alcohol or drugs are suspected to be a factor. The incident remains under investigation.

When the air ambulance arrived on scene, both directions of the interstate were shut down for an hour. The highway was closed between Middleton Pike (SR 582) and Wooster Street (OH-64). Traffic was backed up all the way to Perrysburg.
