WGU moves into its third year

Indiana's eighth state university, Western Governors University is now in it's third year.

On Tuesday, the chancellor of WGU visited Evansville to meet with business leaders and current students.

Vanderburgh County is home to 115 WGU Indiana students. Each are following a personalized learning experience that fits the lifestyle of a busy adult.

Classes start at the beginning of the month and are completed at their own pace. Faculty mentors help through the degree program.

"Of our 500 graduates, 40 percent of them have already received a promotion, a pay raise or a new job. So it's exactly what we promised students when they come to WGU Indiana. They will get a competency based education so that they can hit the ground running," Chancellor Allison Barber said.
