Tonight at 10: The High Cost of Justice

Posted: Updated:

In a 14 News special report, a high-profile murder case hasn't gone to trial yet, and it's already cost over a half million dollars.

One Vanderburgh County Councilman is making a point by voting no to any more requests for funding.

"I think it's a lot to ask the taxpayers to continue to support the defense for this murder case," said Ed Bassemier, who's on Vanderburgh County Council.

We'll find out why the costs are mounting up in the Jeffrey Weisheit Capital murder case. He's accused of arson and murder in the deaths of his girlfriend's two children.

What if anything can be done to limit the spending? It's our special report the high cost of justice tonight at 10.
