CHICOPEE, MA (WSHM) -
On Monday, FEMA and Army Corps of Engineers unloaded more than 30 industrial-sized generators from trucks.
The emergency generators had been delivered to Westover Air Reserve Base on Sunday to help New England businesses, schools, and hospitals affected by Friday's snowstorm.
"What they're doing right now is preparation work in the event that they need to be deployed," said Bryan Toman, FEMA incident support base manager.
For years, Westover has been a major staging center for emergencies, including Hurricane Sandy in October, 2012.
These generators range in weight from 6,000-10,000 lbs.
