Posted: Updated:

After six months of construction Tell City's new "Visitor and Events Center" is almost complete.

The building is modeled after Tell City's former train depot and it includes a farmer's market, a welcome center and a public events room.

Mayor Barbara Ewing says all of the woodwork inside of the building was done in Tell City.

it will also serve as a retail shop for local artists.

Ewing says the center is the first step in revitalizing 'seventh street,' which could soon include a new hotel.

"We want to present Tell City as a community open for development and progress," says Ewing. "And that is much of what this building, this project represents."

Mayor Ewing says the center will officially open in mid-March.
