Officials at the criminal records website share an increase in sales for background checks with the U.S. Housing passing this new legislation.
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) February 08, 2013
CriminalRecords.us.org has increased their number of background checks purchased by consumers since this new House bill allows judges more discretion to erase criminal records of people who may have redeemed themselves (CNHI). Company representatives attribute this to consumers wanting to have access to as many records as they can before courts start expunging criminal records.
Criminal records can often ruin a person's career and this new bill passed will allow those who have seemingly "made up" for their crimes to have a clean background check. Nonviolent arrests and convictions will be easier to clear and make it easier for them to find work.
Company officials share that this may be a good idea in theory, if a crime committed was indeed nonviolent, but that does not mean an ex-criminal will not make another offense.
"Expunging class B and C felonies could put businesses in jeopardy if they hire a person who is likely to commit another crime," shared CriminalRecords.us.org reps.
Though the bill passed requires a five year wait time after a sentence is complete, violent crimes and sex crimes cannot be expunged. Criminal records and background checks are important factors when worrying about family history and employment safety.
The increase in sales marks a high point for the company but the hopes are that the Senate will reconsider the bill or make changes regarding recurring criminals. CriminalRecords.us.org thanks their customers for the on going support and use of their background check services.
