TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Tift Co. high forward Carlie Couch will be taking her soccer talents to Furman University in Greenville South Carolina. Couch was the region player of the year her freshman season and has been all region player every year since.

Last year she was an all state selection while leading the region in goals with 43. She also won the 2012 Georgia State Cup on her SSA Central Elite club squad made up other local talent some from the Lee Co. high soccer team.

Couch had several offers from larger D-I schools but says Furman has been her choice for some time now.

"My sophomore year I went with my travel team and we toured the school and I just fell in love with the atmosphere. The campus is so beautiful. I love the coach, the girls. It was just a perfect connection. It was everything I wanted." Said Couch.

Couch chose Furman over Georgia and Clemson among others.
