EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Deputy who was under investigation by his office, has resigned.

Sheriff Eric Williams tells 14 News, Stuart Mosby's resignation became effective Monday.

Williams says during a self-initiated internal audit they found possible inconsistencies regarding a traffic Mosby was a part of.

Mosby was put on administrative leave during the investigation.

Williams said the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, which issued the Grant that is being audited, was notified of the current investigation.
