Local school introduced to the exciting side of science

Posted: Updated:

Students at Cynthia Heights Elementary School wrapped up their Science Fair with a bang.

Dr. Jeff Seyler from USI showed the kids some of the more exciting sides of science.

He talked about how temperature affects gases and solids as well as showing the students how pressure works by exploding a trash can.

He says it's important to get children in science at a young age, so they learn to think about their surroundings with a scientific mind.

"It's just great to share my enthusiasm, to understand the things in your world," says Dr. Seyler.

"When the light bulbs go off, it just brings a sense of joy to know that I'm sharing some of that enthusiasm with others."

After the presentation, students received awards and recognition for their science experiments.
