PLAINVILLE, CT (WFSB) -

The Plainville Police Department arrested a woman who is accused of threatening to strike a child during a boys basketball practice at Linden Street School Tuesday evening.

Witnesses told police that Cari Penta, 41, went onto the court and screamed at some of the players because she thought one of them elbowed her child.

According to witnesses, Penta was also screaming profanities during the basketball practice.

Penta was arrested at her home even though she denied the charges. She was charged with second-degree breach of peace and is expected to be arraigned at Bristol Superior Court on Feb. 19.
