The 2012-2013 winter outlook for the U. S. was even money to see a wet/dry and cold/warm winter.

Remember last February, the U.S. finished in the top 20 warmest of all time.  Dry, mild, with a dearth of snow. As of February 1, 2013, over 45% of the U.S. was covered in snow. February 2012, less than 20%.

This winter has been a bigger snow-maker along with abundant rainfall. Paoli Peaks is humming this season with a base up to 63-inches. Did anybody ski last year without flying to Aspen?

Consider the numbers…Evansville snowfall 11.8 inches compared to 0.2 inches to date last year. The snow totals are 4.6 inches above normal. Rainfall is up too. Evansville 6.93 inches this year…more than double the average.
