Columbia Sportswear recalls heated jackets due to burn hazard

The recall includes seven models of men's and women's 2012 Columbia Omni-Heat electric heated jackets.

The company received one report of the wrist cuff overheating, posing a burn hazard.  About 96,000 jackets were sold at several U.S. retailers including Dick's Sporting Goods and Amazon.com.

The following names and style numbers are included in the recall:

Men's

  • Circuit Breaker™ II Jacket SM7051
  • Electro AMP™ Jacket SM7061
  • Electro™ Interchange Jacket SM7886
  • Electric Big Game™ Interchange Jacket HM7198

WOMEN'S

  • Circuit Breaker™ II Jacket SL7022
  • Electro AMP™ Jacket SL7021
  • Electro™ Interchange Jacket SL7885

The style number can be found on both the large white care label and the small white security tag sewn into the left inside seam of the jacket.

Consumers should stop using the jackets immediately and contact Columbia Sportswear for a full refund (503) 985-4584.
