The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says they plan to restrict traffic to
one lane on the KY 2262 Ohio River Bridge in Downtown Owensboro on Wednesday.
Officials say the Wednesday morning lane restriction on the Blue Bridge is to
allow work on the bridge navigation lighting.
Motorists should expect to encounter one lane traffic with
alternating flow controlled by flaggers starting about 9:30 a.m. The lane restriction should only be up for about two hours.
Also
known as the Blue Bridge and the Glover Cary Bridge, the 4,622 ft. structure
connects KY 2262 and Indiana State Route 161 over the Ohio River at
Owensboro. The Blue Bridge is at Ohio River navigation mile point 756.3.
Approximately
8,500 vehicles cross the Ohio River on the Blue Bridge between Kentucky and
Indiana in an average day.
