EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992, originally a one-woman show by Anna Deveare Smith, opens the spring productions for USI Theatre on Friday, February 22. This documentary drama is based on eyewitness accounts of the 1992 Rodney King trial and verdict.

Smith uses direct statements made by those who experienced the Los Angeles riots and the devastating human impact of the event.

Seven students in USI's production will transform into the different individuals interviewed during and after the riots, with no boundary of sexuality, race, or ethnicity.

USI Theatre's spring production opens Friday night, February 22, and runs through the following Friday, March 1, with Monday as the only day off for the show during its one-week run.

The play will be staged at 7:30 p.m. February 22-23 and February 26-March 1, and 2 p.m. Sunday, February 24 in the Mallette Studio Theatre on the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center on USI's campus.
