EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

A local group has taken color guard talents from football halftime shows to competitions in gymnasiums.

Inov8 Winter Guard is a group of 12 students from high schools and colleges in the Tri-State area. Organizers say the group is an opportunity for students to pursue their performing talents beyond high school.

The performance is called Sforzando, which means suddenly with force.  The name exemplifies the team's goals as they break into the competitive sport.

"Our goal this year is to perform at shows in the area. We're going to Chattanooga, Tennessee, Indianapolis, places around Cincinnati, and we will be going to the finals in Dayton, Ohio in April. Our goal is to make finals," co-director Ron Baysinger said.
