EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

An Evansville man is taken to jail after police say he robbed a convenient store this morning at gunpoint.

25-year-old Andrew Mickens was arrested after police say he walked into the Country Mark on Lincoln Avenue and Dexter Avenue.

The store clerk says he was making coffee in the back of the store when Mickens walked into the store wearing a ski mask.

The clerk says he didn't think much of it because of how cold it was outside, until the man pulled out a silver handgun and demanded to see the safe.

Mickens gave the suspect cash from the register and rolled coins from behind the counter. He then forced the clerk on the ground and told him to count to 100 before calling police.

Mickens was taken into custody just a short distance away.

Another armed robbery happened at the same location on December 17. No suspects have been arrested in connection with this robbery.
