New jobs, new preschools

The Lincolnland Economic Development Corporation held their annual meeting in Santa Claus on Friday.

State school board officials announced plans for the upcoming school year such as a new preschool program at Heritage Hills. Other proposed projects were discussed such as the Ohio Valley Resources Fertilizer Project and the $3-billion Indiana Gasification Project.

Mark Lubbers, a Spokesmen for those projects is hoping to help out the environment and bring new jobs to Indiana.

"If we get it up and running, there will be a coal industry in America, period," says Lubbers.

LEDC is a non-profit organization that works to help out the economy and improve the quality of life for residents in Spencer County.
