KHSAA holds state tournament bracket draw - 14 News, WFIE, Evansville, Henderson, Owensboro

LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) – We now know which regions will play each other in the opening round of the 2013 boys and girls Kentucky High School Athletic Association Sweet 16 State basketball tournaments.

The matchup of regions was set by a blind draw Friday afternoon.

The boys tournament finds the two schools from the Louisville area, regions 6 and 7, on opposite sides of the bracket with a chance to play each other for the state title.

Wednesday, March 6 (Rupp Arena, Lexington)

12:00 pm: Region 12 vs. Region 11
 1:30 pm: Region 9 vs. Region 6
 6:30 pm: Region 1 vs. Region 3
 8:00 pm: Region 2 vs. Region 8

Thursday, March 7

12:00 pm: Region 4 vs. Region 10
 1:30 pm: Region 16 vs. Region 5
 6:30 pm: Region 15 vs. Region 7
 8:00 pm: Region 14 vs. Region 13

On the girls side, the Louisville regions landed in the bottom side of the bracket and will face each other on the second day of opening round play.

Wednesday, March 13 (Diddle Arena, Bowling Green)

12:00 pm: Region 4 vs. Region 5
 1:30 pm: Region 10 vs. Region 16
 6:30 pm: Region 8 vs. Region 2
 8:00 pm: Region 13 vs. Region 15

Thursday, March 14

12:00 pm: Region 12 vs. Region 3
 1:30 pm: Region 7 vs. Region 6
 6:30 pm: Region 1 vs. Region 14
 8:00 pm: Region 11 vs. Region 9
