Henderson school closes due to possible asbestos disturbance

Posted: Updated:

Henderson school officials held a news conference Thursday afternoon about a big problem that's surfaced at an elementary school.

Henderson's South Heights Elementary will be closed Friday and here's why: there is a potential asbestos disturbance that, according to school officials, could have created a potential risk.

The school corporation is held a news conference about the situation and they say they're working with the Department of Environmental Protection to get this problem fixed.

If your child goes to day care at South Heights, you should call Bend Gate and use that facility for daycare tomorrow.

We'll keep you update as we get new information in.
