WOODRUFF, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies are investigating after a Woodruff mom claimed she was scammed out of $400 for Justin Bieber concert tickets.

The woman, who asked to be unidentified, said she tried buying tickets off Craigslist for Tuesday's Justin Bieber concert in Charlotte. The woman said she did her research on the seller, and thought everything was legitimate, but wound up getting scammed anyway.

"I actually reversed researched her phone number, her address, her employment, everything checked out that she told me," she said.

"(If they say) 'well, we can't split the tickets up, we need you to send us additional money', that should be a huge red flag to anybody that something's not right," said Master Deputy Kevin Bobo with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

The victim told FOX Carolina that she put a scam alert on Craigslist, and has heard from others who were bilked out of their money.

"It's up to the man upstairs to judge but if she can sleep at night knowing she scammed a 9-year-old out of her dream, there's not really anything you can tell to people like that," she said.
