On West Franklin Street, construction is well underway on a new art gallery and café.
PG is slated to open around March 15th, right next to the Tin Man Brewing Company. They say they will have their doors open for the Mardi Gras Franklin Crawl event.
The gallery will showcase primarily local art and offer space for meetings and events.
PG says they will serve a full breakfast until 3:00 p.m., offering a variety of breakfast sandwiches, waffles, corn pancakes, baked eggs, hashbrowns, homemade toast and jam, and pastries.
Lunch items will be available after 11 a.m. These include sandwiches, soup, and salads.
PG's owner says all ingredients are found as locally as possible and everything will be made from scratch. He says the kitchen's goal is to progressively become more sustainable and organic, and to eventually purchase 100% of our ingredients from local farms.
He says organic coffee and tea will also be an option on the menu. If a permit is approved, beer and wine will also be served, most likely only during specific evening events.
For the most part, PG's owner says it will be an all-ages venue, a place he hopes will bring a little more art and culture to Evansville.
