First year Lee County head basketball coach Kervin Davis has his Trojans in striking distance of a region title this season.

After a shaky start to the season, the Trojans have won 3 of their last 4 games including a 1 point win over region leader Bainbridge last Friday. Lee County is 2-1 in region 1-AAAAA so far this year.

Coach Davis says his young crew has grown a lot over the course of the season and the rest of the school has taken notice. He says the basketball team has increasingly been a buzz around campus which gives the players more incentive to bring their A games to the court every night.

"The main thing I've noticed is the way the kids carry themselves around school. Their peers look at them differently. The kids show some excitement about the game being tonight. Now the students say we're coming to the game and that makes a big difference." Said Davis.

Forward Stephen Collier said "I feel like we deserve it. Its our time. We're tired of losing. Its time to start winning now."

The Trojans will play at TC Central on Friday.
