Pleasant temps return to central North Carolina

Updated:
A cold front, responsible for devastating storms from Tennessee to Massachusetts and even some severe storms here in North Carolina, will finally move off the coast tonight.  As it does, the hot and humid weather will move out and unseasonably cool temperatures will return.

Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies and lows to be pleasant, falling into the low and mid 60s.

Tuesday will be filled with a mix of sun and clouds along with much cooler temperatures and less humid conditions.  Highs Tuesday will likely stay in the low 80s in the Triangle and approach the mid 80s across the Sandhills.

Check out Futurecast and see exactly what North Carolina weather will be like in the next 24 hours                  Wednesday will be mostly to partly sunny with a high of 85.  It will be a littler warmer, but still below normal on Thursday, with a high of 87 and a stray shower or storm possible in the afternoon.

Friday will have more clouds as it will become mostly cloudy with just a slight risk of a shower or storm.  The highs will stay in check with the clouds around; the high should be around 83.  It looks like this unsettled weather could stick around through the upcoming weekend with scattered storms possible, mainly in the afternoon hours.  Temperatures will still be cooler than normal too, topping out in the mid 80s.
